Marcus 'Biggles' Beagley - Owner
Marcus formed ‘Biggles Racing Team’ (BRT) in November 2008, and has been racing under his nickname ‘Biggles’ since then. His nickname evolved out of his last name ‘Beagley’ and his love for flying (he is a fully qualified private pilot). Marcus climbed quickly to a top ten national contender in the 600cc Supersports class aboard his Kawasaki ZX6R in a very short period of time (finishing NZ#7 in 2011 & 2015 NZSBK). He owns his own company, and has been involved in sales and marketing most of his career. This has enormous value for sponsors, as he has a proven ability to get brand recognition to the end users. Marcus has stepped back from racing to focus on building Kawasaki BRT as a platform to support young NZ talent to achieve in motorcycle road racing.

Grant Shivas - Team Coordinator
Grant joins the team this season after being introduced to motorcycle racing for the first time this season when supporting BRT from the sidelines. Grant has a long history with motorsports, having himself raced in the NZV8 series spanning from 2002 through 2005. He has also competed in the Holden HQ series racking up some wins of his own. He competed in his first Australian V8 Utes class here in 2006 also. Grant also has his pilots license and has a love
affair with classic cars, owning a myriad of award-winning vehicles. Grant, a successful business owner as well, brings to the team a solid understanding of how to assemble a group of people and implement action plans to make things happen. Grant owns the teams race Superbikes and we are extremely pleased to welcome him to our team. |
Simon Perry - Race Mechanic
Simon has been involved with KAWASAKI BRT for two seasons now, and is tasked with ensuring the racers have a bike prepped and ready to race at the
events we attend. Simon himself is a keen racer, competing in local club day races in the 600SS class throughout the South Island. Simon is involved in the commercial electrical market and brings practical engineering skills to the team. Because of his racing background, he understands the requirements of the riders and methodically goes about his work without any fuss or fanfare. We are extremely fortunate to have someone as proficient as Simon in our team and he brings a solid backbone to the bike prep on race weekends. |
